About Early Music

Early Music in Columbus is a concert series dedicated to the music of the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods. We present exceptional music, powerful performances, and bring the past to life for audiences throughout central Ohio.Since 1980, Early Music in Columbus has each year presented a series of concerts featuring some of the finest national and international artists who specialize in the music of these periods.

The Friends of Early Music, Inc. have made a very significant contribution to the cultural life of Columbus, Ohio and to its diversity through the creation and sponsorship of the Early Music in Columbus concert series.

The Early Music in Columbus concert series was established in 1980 and is cosponsored by the Capital University Conservatory of Music with the assistance and support of The Friends of Early Music, Inc.

Early Music in Columbus sponsors six or more concerts each year. Most concerts are held on the campus of Capital University, although the series has taken advantage of other fine performance sites in the Columbus area, including the Pontifical College Josephinum, The Southern Theatre, First Congregational Church, The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral and St. Joseph Cathedral.

Both international and national artists regularly participate in our concert series. For a history of our performances, see Past Seasons.
