Jean Philippe Rameau - Musettes from "Les fêtes d'Hébé" - The Aulos Ensemble

“Authentic Baroque Performance at its Best” — The New York Times

Formed at the vanguard of the original instrument movement in the United States, Aulos celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2014-15.  Aulos’ work has been called “Authentic Baroque Performance at its Best” by The New York Times, and its newest recording series on Centaur Records has garnered superb press.

Their groundbreaking recording of Rameau opera suites in the Ensemble‘s unique chamber music version was described by Early Music America as “Something quite new and powerful. The effect is exquisite.”  The Aulos Ensemble will present A Tale of Two Cities, a program that combines the gems of Handel and Rameau along with an intoxicating suite from Purcell’s The Fairy Queen.
