The Early Interval is returning to the Mediterranean for its annual celebration of
Twelfth Night. This season’s concert will feature medieval, Renaissance and early Baroque music from the areas surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. The program will be presented in the neogothic splendor of the ensemble’s new home for Twelfth Night, First Congregational Church in downtown Columbus.

A Mediterranean Twelfth Night Celebration will feature music from the 12th through 17th centuries from France, Italy, Spain and North Africa. Among the selections will be French noels, 17th century Italian duets for two soprano soloists, lively Spanish dances and instrumental pieces from the areas now known as Morocco and Tunisia. The Early Interval will perform vocally and on recorders, bass dulcian, crumhorns, medieval, Renaissance and Near Eastern harps, violas da gamba, medieval lute, chitarone, Renaissance and Baroque guitars, treble and bass rebecs, vielle, violin and pipe and tabor.

The members of The Early Interval are Ron Cook, director, Jim Bates, Janice Cook, Sean
Ferguson, Lyz Liddell and Tamara Seckel. The Early Interval will be joined again for this
concert by soprano Margaret Wells.
