British Twelfth Night with The Early Interval

A warm treat in the dark and dreary winter, our resident Early Music ensemble, “The Early Interval,” took us on a trip to Britain for our traditional Twelfth Night Concert held this year on January 3 & 4, 2015. The neo-Gothic splendor of the First Congregational Church provided perfect backdrop and acoustics for medieval carols, the music of William Byrd, and music for a consort of viols by John Dowland and other composers, among other arrangements.

“Sublime” was a word used to describe the performance by this highly sought-after group of young British singers. Stile Antico performed “From the Imperial Court: Music for the House of Hapsburg” on March 6, 2015 at the First Congregational Church in Columbus.
