Ayreheart

Ayreheart performs historical music from the British Isles with two lutes, voice, colascione, and percussion on February 6 in Mees Hall on the campus of Capital University. Co-presented by the Columbus Guitar Society, the performance features versatile lute textures created by Ronn McFarlane, who conceived and founded Ayreheart in the wake of his 2009 Grammy nomination for the album “Indigo Road.”

The Early Interval

On April 24, join “The Early Interval” for its spring concert exploring the colorful vocal and instrumental music that was composed and performed in 13th-century Spain. The concert, held in Mees Hall on the campus of Capital University, will be accompanied by visual examples of the colorful art of 13th-century Spain.

The Aulos Ensemble

Our first concert of the year! On October 3, The Aulos Ensemble presented “A Tale of Two Cities,” a program combining the gems of Handel and Rameau along with an intoxicating suite from Purcell’s “The Fairy Queen.” Our program was preceded by a well-attended wine and cheese reception.

Mees Hall

This historic performance hall located on the campus of Capital University was constructed in 1926 and was fully renovated in 1992. It is named for Rev. Dr. Otto Mees, who served as president of Capital from 1912-1946.
